On January 28th, 2017 I was honored to teach the inaugural class for Building Blocks, a New York Junior League (NYJL) committee that teamed up with the Single Parent Resource Center (SPRC).

The Building Blocks committee's vision is to provide interactive play with moms and babies (age 6 months to 4 years) to create a safe and supportive environment for the new moms to bond with their children.

I donated my services and taught a free "mommy and me" interactive movement class for their inaugural event.

The class involved a mix of yoga, scarves, brain gym techniques, songs, and games to facilitate movement-based learning and support joyful connection for the families present.

NYJL is a nonprofit organization of women committed to improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. They are one of the oldest and largest women’s non-profit volunteer organizations in the city with more than 2,800 volunteers - of all races, religions, and ethnicities - who donate more than 250,000 hours of service every year.

SPRC is the only comprehensive non-profit agency devoted solely to providing programs for not only over 2,000 of New York City'€™s single parents families annually. It also offers information to thousands of families from all around the country, and from all around the world, who access their resources through social media.

I look forward to continuing to support both of these incredible organizations in ways that I am able.
