Speak your truth this holiday season: A tool to release tension and anger

Excitement rises during the holiday season. Love, joy, delight, they all make star-studded appearances, but with all the energy, tension and stress sometimes tag along for the ride.

There’s this other thing, maybe you know what I’m talking about, that happens over the holidays, it’s when a part of you feels like you “should” do something even if you don’t want to.

Whether it’s attending certain gatherings or eating certain foods, saying, “No, thank you,” is hard enough in our day-to-day lives and during the holidays it seems to be twenty times more challenging.

You find yourself smiling a fake smile, playing nice instead of speaking your truth. Underneath that smile your jaw is clenched and you’re upset, maybe really pissed - with yourself mostly - for yet again doing something you don’t want to do.

This part of the holiday season sneaks in because there are many ideas of what makes the holiday great and many attempt to just muscle or struggle through even though they wish for a different experience.

This is a loving reminder that you do not have to do what everyone else is doing.

You just don’t.

And the more you honor what’s real, true, healthy or good for you, the more others will come out of the sidelines and say, “Gosh, I wish we would have done this sooner.”

Today’s technique is so very simple, but it can help release the tightness in your jaw, head and neck so the tension, stress and anger can fall to the wayside, creating space for clear communication and helping you speak your truth with greater ease.

It also just feels amazing!

It’s also a great way to wake up your system for any type of public speaking, networking, mingling, partying and challenging conversations with loved ones.

Use it as often as you like to release anger or frustration, soothe a tense jaw and neck and communicate with ease.

What are you going to say no to this holiday season? Let me know in the comments below!

And remember, the more clear you are with what you don't want, the more room their is for what you do want.

Happy Holidays & Big Love!
